Israel is making the Jewish diaspora less safe

This was written in response to those who downplay Israel's actions in Gaza and the occupied territories, and who try to challenge any criticism of Israel, often by claiming anti-Semitism.

A common ploy of American Zionists is to claim that the Netanyahu government is corrupt (it would be ludicrous to claim otherwise), but the actions of the Israeli Defense Force is justified. The absurdity of that is evident when we consider the analogy of saying that Donald Trump may be corrupt but the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), DOGE, and other stooge agencies of the Trump Administration are acting properly.

The actions Israel is taking in Gaza and all the occupied territories is seen by much of the world (likely, most of the world) as cruel and illegal. One wonders what would happen if Israel was not fully and enthusiastic supported by the United States Congress and their enforcement arm, the U.S. military. How far would France, for example, go to protect the people of Gaza if it didn't have to also go up against the trillion-dollar-a year U.S. military?

That no country can do anything about Gaza because Israel is protected by the U.S. is extremely frustrating for many people of the world. This frustration drives real anti-Semitism.

As you read the remainder of this article, consider if this statement is true or hyperbole:

Zionism is to Israel as the KKK is to the U.S.

This analogy is imperfect, of course, because the KKK was never the U.S. government. However, Israel is widely recognized as a settler colonial state, thus one could claim the actions of Israeli settlers IS the state.

One last word of wisdom before you read on. If you haven't read the book Palestine: Peace Not Apatheid, written by Jimmy Carter, or have the equivalent knowledge, you're not qualified to argue the history of Israel and its misdeeds.

Doesn't Israel have a right to exist?

American Jews are taught several things that are no longer true today. Primary among these is the notion that Israel is in danger of being overrun by neighboring Arab armies, and that only aid from the U.S. prevents this.

The reality is that Israel is the military superpower in the region. Israel has nuclear weapons. If U.S. aid would stop today, Israel would be in no greater jeopardy than it is now. It would likely be in lesser jeopardy if it had to scale back it's military misadventures because of funding.

Zionism = Israel = being Jewish

American Jews (and, perhaps, Jews worldwide) are taught that their Jewishness is inextricably tied to Israel and Zionism. This is why they defend Israel no matter what; to the point of appearing to be monsters when defending the starvation of children.

They are willing to concede that Israel's government is corrupt, but that linkage between themselves (their religion) and Israel must be maintained, regardless of how flimsy the excuses are.

Greater Israel

At the start of the 20th century, a document named The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was distributed. Here's the first paragraph of Wikipedia's page on the book:

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a fabricated text purporting to detail a Jewish plot for global domination. Largely plagiarized from several earlier sources, it was first published in Imperial Russia in 1903, translated into multiple languages, and disseminated internationally in the early part of the 20th century. It played a key part in popularizing belief in an international Jewish conspiracy.

The book uses this map to show the territory that Procols refers to. The snake forms the boundaries of Greate Israel.

Though Protocols is a fabricated text, many Zionists believe a portion of it. That Israel should expand its territory beyond its current borders. This belief was voiced recently by Israel's Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich. Netanyahu was recently at the United Nations showing a map that is reminiscent of the Protocols map.

Denies journalists in Gaza

Israel does not allow journalists into Gaza. Palestinian journalists are the only ones who are there, and Israel is murdering them in relatively large numbers.

Given the absence of journalists, we're left with Israel's word on what's happening, and Israel has been caught in lies many times.

When you think of the Netanyahu government telling the truth, think of Donald Trump.

Attacks USS Liberty

On September 8, 1967, Israel air and naval forces attacked the U.S. non-combatant Navy ship USS Liberty, killing 34 and wounding 171. Israel claims the attack was an accident, but few in the U.S. government at the time believed that.

Murdering Egyptians

Why did Israel attack the USS Liberty? One reason is the IDF was murdering Egyptian men in the Sinai, and Israel didn't want the U.S. government to know about it.
